Few people realize the genius that was #Bitcoin's launch. Basically, some random guy posted a white paper on Halloween about emoney. Then in January, he started mining it. Everyone was free to join him at no cost. And a few did. Then a lot did. And now we have a new global money.

So true! No pre-mined coins for himself or anyone else. No airdrop. To get coins you had to earn them... with work. Proof of work. The first coins sold were based on the cost of electricity to mine them.
