Being a leftist in your teens and twenties is forgivable idealism.

Continuing to be a leftist in your thirties and beyond is historical and psychological illiteracy.

If you are above the age of thirty and are still a leftist, you are most likely A) Just pretending to believe in leftism as a path to power. Or, B) Deceived by the attractiveness of comforting lies over hard truths. Or, C) Uncurious and haven’t read a book since college.

It’s not about being right-wing. It’s about being right (ie. Accepting reality).

What are the hard truths that leftists are unable to accept/admit?

1. That wealth redistribution from the productive class to the unproductive class makes society worse not better.

2. That no one is born with a blank slate. Rather, there are biological reasons different people, and different groups of people, behave differently.

3. That communism has failed every single time it’s been tried. And next time we try it will be no different.

Leftism is, at its core, a rebellion against God.

To be fair, without this dichotomy, free will would not exist. The two are mutually interdependent.

I think a lot of coders remain lefty because they autistically don't understand people and think the world can be programmed. But idk.

Checks out.

Its so annoying to me. The smarter almost any person working in any field in tech seems to be in their niche, the more retardedly socialist their opinions seem to be

Yeah, that seems to be the trend

I was a Bush Neocon for a couple years in early teens until I learned about liberty, austrian, economics, and Ron Paul.

I have a surprise for you

Being a leftist in your 20s is idealism.

Staying one in your 30s is choosing servitude over sovereignty.

#Bitcoin is what happens when you finally grow up.

Being a leftist in your 20s makes sense — you’re broke and the #fiat system tells you someone else will save you.

But if you’re still a #leftist at 35, you haven’t realized no one’s coming to save you.

Stack #sats. Save yourself.

One needs to be forgiven .. trying out ideas.

Yes.

I saw the Soviet Union. Leningrad was nice and very safe. Moscow was sort of a shithole in the middle of a prarie.

I believe leftism is an emergent property of increasing scale. Large atomized populations are the fertile ground for this ideology to take root.

Maturation, parenthood, entrepreneurship provide a counterbalancing force to this scale. They draw attention to the micro. Conversely, big tech, bureaucracy, academia are blinded by their focus on macro phenomena.

This decouples them from reality.

there's a saying

if you weren't leftist when you were jung, you don't have a heart.

id you are not on the right when you are older, you don't have a brain.
