“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities…and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Is 53:4-6
Who killed Jesus? Ultimately, God did. Using evil men for His purposes. As Acts tells us…
“…your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place.” Acts 4:27-28
These were the evil and lawless men of Acts 2:23. “This Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.”
We are responsible for our evil, but God’s plans will never be thwarted.
