Now, make the revealed text include a link or note

Now, the fun part was figuring out a way that it reveals text + media with another "trigger link" that reveals more text + media with another trigger link in a logical message sequence...

Hint: You could just link old notes, but what about for writing new multi-layered messages?

You would have to create each part (in reverse order), then post them to then link them in one final "master post" message that follows a logical "revealed sequence."

...and that would look weird and confusing to followers—people posting bits of a post out of order, out of context first, then glueing them together for a final multi-layered post.

That's what I was testing :)

Can you figure out how I did it?

Hint: There's a bit of smoke and mirrors to my solution, but it works!

Earlier today when I was playing with your original post I was immediately thinking about gamebooks.

Absolutely! I was thinking the same thing. I used to love choose your own adventure books!

Choose your note adventure?

You see a path leading into the Dark Forest and another leading to a beautiful castle at the top of a hill, which do you take?

Castle󠇠󠆏󠆆󠆅󠅉󠅟󠅥󠄐󠅔󠅙󠅕󠅔󠄞

I go home to feed the goats and tuck in the children.

Same, I would just feed the children and tuck in the goats.

All very necessary activities.

Dark forest

Depends where I’m going…

Destination is in the note 😂

Whoa cool idea

Yeah that was the bit I thought was cool. I couldn't find the original note except by using the event ID.

The event existed but it wasn't in your list of published notes.

Did you publish it to a private relay?

A note is just a signed JSON. I can know everything about it before it's published; in fact, I can know it even before it's signed. So, creating chains doesn't seem that hard... To prevent it from showing a create at in the future or in the past would probably solve the problem with confusing your readers. For announcing things, a replace event would probably work... Not sure if any of this is true; I didn't dive in, I'm just guessing.
