Why it is important to optimize your media for your target audience. It is not only so people can get it loaded quickly, but the host doesn’t bankrupt themselves. The cheapest per GB paid CDN that I am aware of charges 0.5 cents (half a cent) per gigabyte. My PFP that was downloaded about 1M times in the past 6 months alone, racked up 27.63 GB and it is only 65.7KB. So if you won’t allow the service to process the uploaded media and it goes viral, then all bets are off.
