Somebody DM me how do I hydrate during a marathon so I thought I would share it here.

I use unflavoured LMNT zero-sugar electrolytes for hydration on any run longer than 9 miles (I don't carry water for shorter runs).

They have nothing but electrolytes. No sugar, no artificial flavors. No BS.

The amount of liquid you use is personal. It depends on how much you sweat. For longer runs (20+ miles) I carry 2 bottles of 16 oz each and recently I started training with a light backpack with a 50oz hydration pouch to get used to it for 50K runs.

I like the SaltStick capsules (not the chewable) in a small pill zip lock. When you start feeling tight, take one when you reach the hydration station with a gel.
