🐏 TODAY: Unveiling of the statue of the mythical hero Jason on the waterfront of Volos, a city in Greece, located very close to ancient Iolkos.

🇬🇷 With splendor and emotion, the unveiling ceremony of the imposing statue of the legendary hero Jason took place this morning on the waterfront of Volos. The statue, created by sculptor Apostolos Kourtis, now stands prominently at the edge of the harbor, depicting Jason in ancient-style armor, holding the Golden Fleece and a spear.

Modern-day Volos is located very close to ancient Iolkos, which is considered the homeland of the mythical hero Jason and the starting point of the Argonautic Expedition.

The installation of the statue seals the timeless connection between the city and the mythology of the Argonauts. It aspires to become a new symbol of Volos, attracting visitors and strengthening the bond between the city’s modern identity and its ancient Hellenic heritage. A large crowd was present, applauding the ceremony with great enthusiasm.
