Victimhood is glorified these days.

Society encourages it. It encourages people to identify with their trauma, to see themselves as fragile, damaged, helpless. Worse, it lets them use that identity as an excuse for their actions, or their inaction. It teaches them to let the past dictate their future and rewards them for staying stuck.

That might sound harsh, but it’s the reality

Victimhood isn’t just tolerated anymore... it’s a status symbol. When strength offends and suffering grants moral authority, society will bend its knee not to excellence but to injury. This is slave morality... it punishes those who rise and hands trophies to those who wallow. Entire institutions feed this. Media, academia, corporate HR departments... they’ve built industries around coddling weakness and punishing resilience. They don’t want empowered individuals; they want manageable victims. Soft, compliant, addicted to validation.
