Cars are actually the perfect example because car centric urban planning has destroyed society, not just by making people fat and stupid but by physically disconnecting us and making us reliant on oil companies as well
I grew up in a metropolis, too much traffic, high density.
I walked 10km a day even in the city.
You cannot change the ways of the world.
But you can control your own ways.
The amish got it right.
