KYC is outright dangerous, it exposes millions of people to risks of revealed home addresses to potential attackers.

BTC is KYC.

Yes, and imagine if you've done a great job of stacking sats, and your home address -- combined with the public blockchain where anyone can see what you have -- falls into the hands of a ruthless, desperate, and violent criminal in your neighborhood?

Disturbing thought.

That's why early Bitcoiners do Monero.

You only start to think about the security of your family if you need to self-custody serious amounts.

My first crypto was Monero -- all obtained without KYC -- and I've never held anything else.

I don't want (1) the government tracking, taxing, and punishing me for having it or for how I spend it, or (2) neighborhood thugs eyeballing my public portfolio.

I'm not trying to get rich with it. Just trying to have digital utility with privacy.

Greed blinds us and will always bite us in the end.

I know this is not a popular opinion in here, but it's the truth. The 15k users here on Nostr who know how to use self-cudtodial LN will stick out in a sea of complying BTC IOU 'owners'.

They will own nothing and be happy?

Monero Bros are not much better but at least they can offer better shelter to those opting out.

Great discussion 👌

Thanks!

I have opted out of being scanned at the airport today and it worked!! Thanks for your great work … feels so good 😊

Well done!!

I also do it. And it works yes.. 🙌🏻

I had NO idea that this is even possible. I‘ll try too next time.
