The European Parliament just voted in favor of banning social media for people under the age of 16.
483 MEPs voted in favor while 92 voted against. If it becomes law, people will likely have to use IDs to log into their profiles, making anonymous accounts impossible.

Yes, a similar mechanism to those free hotel wi-fis where you need to login before access to internet is allowed. Only here, it is the ISP who requires "logging in", by identification with the digital ID system.
This is how they trick people into giving up their rights.
-Digital IDs are the only way to enforce this.
-Digital IDs were always the goal.
-Digital IDs can be used as a digital prison.
For example, if everyone has one, they could require them to be tied to your debit/credit card.
At that point, they can deduce your carbon footprint.
Whats to stop them from restricting certain purchases like steak? Tobacco? Gasoline? Anything.
They could even make it so your money doesn’t work outside of a given area to effectively restrict travel.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this. Influencers doesn't contribute valuable skills to their mental development. I think that's a double edge sword. Now the big brother will insist to see our ID's when we log into Nostr 🤣 haaa nooot.

I agree but what I see is just a few parents successfully fighting the social media trend. Majority of them are glye to the Instagram and Facebook together with their kids.
Society is fucked and governments are doing to make it even more fucked.
