If i was 20 again i would just live in a van with starlink and work remote for a company that pays in bitcoin and just stack. Seems smarter than paying $2000/m for a 500sqft apartment.

I hear that's cheap these days
Vibe ☮️ coding ✌️
That would have been a dream at that age.
💯
Many earlier Internet entrepreneurs would promote this type of lifestyle just for the savings. Sans Bitcoin.
As a bonus you get a new view whenever you feel like it.
Except the van will cost you more than a down payment these days! 😭
Where do you keep the van at night
It's not possible. There is no where to park the van as most places don't allow you to hang out in the parking lots all day and night. Where exactly are you supposed to shower and bathroom. The rv parks are also fairly expensive more then paying rent. On top of that you can't power the starlink all day or stove. Those are just some issues, there is plenty more.
Can’t be that hard
It is. So many people live in vans, now, and camping sites are so overbooked, that "wild campers" are considered a plague. The police go around, at night, chasing them out of parks and off of property, and handing out fines.
If you don't pay the fines, they confiscate the van.
They leave trash and poop, everywhere, and disturb the wildlife.
it’s possible.
best bet in the US is BLM land. does have its own unique set of challenges and expenses tho.
Planet fitness membership is $25/month and there are locations everywhere with showers.
You could rent a parking spot for your van or use an app like iOverlander and see all the geolocations of spots people park and overnight camp all over the country.
It would be easy and would speed up retirement by decades.
You can park wherever you want in Seattle and no one will care as there are homeless RVs everywhere
I've noticed that too these past years. small RVs or small vans everywhere just parked where ever.
So I guess it is possible but I was thinking more along the lines of at least having a decent life living in van traveling from city to city having parking dedicated to vans and areas that have available cooking areas etc kinda like rv parks.
All those places where vans just hand out because they are homeless are not fun areas and are dangerous and have smelly and scary people.
No, you are correct, I wasn’t really being serious. You don’t want to park amidst those people. Many of them are unstable and cause issues around my workplace on a daily basis.
people do it.
it may not be possible for you.
Easier to just live with relatives or move out someplace cheaper.
urban is fading out
imho
In that scenario moving somewhere cheap makes more sense.
(Speaking as someone with a van I built in my drive, which I spent £20k on and if I kept the bits would be £500k. Ragrets 😖)
Risk of breaking in higher?
Sames
I married my husband who was already living in his van, brought him to Sweden for 6 months where we got into bitcoin, and then we moved back into his van for over 3 years.
It was great! Then last year, we got super cheap land and a motorhome, so our "rent" is under $35 per year in property tax, and we have solar power, and there's a free place to get water.
So, even if we upgraded to a motorhome, our expenses are extremely low. It has allowed us to eat at home instead of eating out, and now we can work from home, and we actually do earn most of our active income in sats! 😎
Why do you have to be 20?
Vanlife mit Starlink & #Bitcoin-Paycheck? Die Matrix will dich nicht frei leben lassen! ✊️ 500 sqft für 2k? Du sparst nur Fiat-Sklavengeld! Stack Bitcoin, du rebellischer Sat-Bock! 🤫
If I could go back to my 20s, I would buy a yacht on the yachttrading platform, because the yachts bought here have increased in price. https://www.yachttrading.com/
😂
I’m over 30 and if I didn’t have a family I’d be doing something like that.
I’m 24 with only skills in optometry, what’s the best way to start from scratch when it comes to learning computer skills nowadays, esp with AI…I wouldn’t want to re-skill inefficiently
Thanks

You don't have to be paid in Bitcoin to stack sats.
Yes! I tell ask the younger chads this.
Get a camper, travel, do, see, and stack.
been watching https://youtube.com/@Ryantwomeyy looks like hea enjoying life
Or stay with your parents longer instead of living in a van…
been in my van over a year.
I have to upgrade my rig for winters in Nevada. other than that it's been fucking great 👍
You are actually describing the future at the information age man.
We just need a decentralized ID / reputation system on top of P2P ecash to step by step get rid of Nation States tyranny by starving them
