Weird thing I just realised is that the lnurl in that spam message is actually my own lnurl from my profile.

So they're not even trying to make sats out of it, just trying to make it look like it's me. Feels personal, no idea what I could've done to offend someone on here though 🤷‍♀️

Yep, we're going to need to get better at checking NIP05 and public keys, I'm sure the impersonator situation will grow more and more alongside adoption.

Please always check the public key with things like this, I'm already aware of a few solid people who no longer follow me after this and I'm sure there are others

I've not looked much in to badges much yet, it should be clear by the public key that it didn't come from me though. I just looked on badges.page and I can see I also got awarded a load of badges from that impersonator account.

No idea, at the moment all I know is they've copied my profile and are spamming a free sats message. I'm really hoping they're not sending DMs or anything else that look like they come from me. Just block them ;)
