If you have your own website, you can set up NIP-05 for free with your own domain.

In your files, you should have a folder called:

Now head over to a client that allows you to edit your profile (ex. astral.ninja) and in the section that says NIP-05 Indentifier, type your_username@your_domain.extension (ex. itsmircea@nostrplebs.com).
