My buddy Kojo showed his face again two days ago! Haven’t seen him since October. I’m hoping to see him again soon.
They can survive without being fed, but mice aren’t the best diet- they can make the cats sick. A little extra winter food really helps the cats stay healthy. You have to give them water in a heated bowl so that the dry food doesn’t overwhelm their system.
I built the cats houses this winter, and they loved them. The ones that don’t use the houses find their way into the rafters of the hobbit house much to the annoyance of any occupants of the hobbit house. 😆 They survived another winter, even the runt (Harris/Harry Jr) and grew bushy coats. They all gained some weight, so it was a good winter.

One more and then I’ll really stop journaling and go to bed. My Mother was very devout and she would teach us over and over the verse that we all are “fearfully and wonderfully made”. This from a very young age instilled in me a reverence for life and for our many differences. According to her, each soul on Earth was precious and destined for greatness if they could only be given the room and love to grow into it. At least that’s what I took away. Ok.
