Agreed, it’s not just this year but last year too, with stuff like #ViolentNight and the horror parody of #TheGrinch
Mostly because the last time there was a #WGAStrike, it was 2007, right around the same time of the housing market crash
It’s part of market panics, and nobody panics more than the “entitled” (I don’t think that everyone in #Hollywood is as entitled as people make them out to be, just the most famous ones, but it’s not like they deserve more than, say, #UPS drivers and #UAW members)
Nope! But I’ve been following the #HollywoodStrike quite closely, in part because I’m a fan of shows and movies but in part because I also viewed the strikes as a canary in the coal mine for an impeding economic depression
One of this strike’s effect, I suspect, the #UAWStrike, is more likely to cause a full on depression though
The #HollywoodStrike is over! Huzzah!
Hopefully this calms down other companies and guilds and makes them feel comfortable being more lenient and willing to amicably negotiate in their respective strikes too.
So cool to have the #Minds on the #Fediverse

… you off your meds today?
The man is just reporting, saying that a letter was sent. 🤦🏾♂️
I doubtless would have loved it, I abstained because of the nudity. I ended up settling for #Barbie. It wasn’t as bad as I expected but I certainly didn’t have a blast either.
It’s been an especially great year for action franchises. If you haven’t seen #JohnWickChapter4 or #MissionImpossibleDeadReckoningPartOne, I’d highly recommend checking those out!
Ah, I see. I agree with you to a point.
#Hollywood’s streaming model has dried up revenue streams. Ad free streaming platforms don’t have an appropriately elastic source of income to pay the actors and writers the residuals they’re looking for even if they want to. It’s in part why all the streaming platforms are secretly failing, losing billions of dollars a year…
But the movie side of things would be fine, as theaters still exist so not much would have changed there, good movies = more revenue and bad movies = less revenue.
That is different than saying that they should lose their jobs because they are woke.
But there are too many people in #Hollywood still making amazing television (especially) and movies (to a far lesser degree) to justify saying that everyone in #Hollywood should be out of a job.
You strike me as someone who hasn’t watched much #Hollywood content over the past two years at least, but have a lot to say about the quality of #Hollywood products.
I refuse to play these tribal games. This is the #USA, not some antiwoke theocracy. Left wingers, even crazy progressives, should have jobs just as right wingers should.
Easy to say if you’re conservative
Politics is a team sport unfortunately, red vs. blue at all costs
#Deadline has the exclusive, it’s looking like no deal has been struck yet.

The goal of achieving a multi planetary existence without industrial effort and waste byproducts which results in the collapse of this planet’s biosphere is…delusional.
without industrial effort and waste byproducts
When did he state that this is part of his goal?
And what makes this goal delusional? I mean, that sort of thing would seem crazy…until someone pulls it off.
This just seems to make #ElonMusk seem aspirational, not crazy. And I’m not sure that his aspirations are quite that high.
I didn’t say she’s not attractive, calm down 😂
I’d need to watch it again but I also like #ThorTheDarkWorld, although I think it’s still the third best #Thor movie.
I didn’t hate #ThorLoveAndThunder either, but that’s because there was a TON of subtext about coping with grief and depression but unfortunately they buried it a bit so a lot of people didn’t catch it. Some more overt presentation of the film’s themes would have helped. But just something about it made me feel like the writers didn’t really care and that the actors were just having fun. Maybe the writers were crunched.
I strongly disagree. The worldbuilding sucked, I’ll agree with that (there’s no reason that I should know more about what life is like in #Wakanda from the first #BlackPanther movie than I know about what life is like in #Asgard from three #Thor movies), but the story at the heart of everything is pretty good. Unfortunately I do think that there’s a soft retcon of the origin story of #Thor’s relationship with his hammer in the first movie later on the in the #MCU (the #Thor we see in #ThorRagnarok and #ThorLoveAndThunder would never have been considered “worthy” by the first film’s standards) but that doesn’t keep the first film from working pretty well on its own.
Can you white people stop playing #TaylorSwift everywhere? It’s mid and annoying.
