What will be in your opinion the most pro-Bitcoin and libertarian parties in the next European elections? I honestly have no idea.(Most convincing answers may get some zap 😉 )

Bitcoin is not backed by any underlying asset because Bitcoin IS an asset.

I was orange pilled after reading "The Bitcoin Standard".

I would add also the book "Broken Money".

it says it is at that edge and that everything from the great city is reached by canals, just as is true of the location of the concentric circles of the Richat structure

the thing about reaching it from the opposite side had to do with the massive river system... now, what was the name of it... it's described in The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya - Tamrasset it was called, and it was a massive river like the size of the Amazon, and yes it joins up with the Nile near where it empties into the mediterranean/agean

there was also a massive river that went in the opposite direction from the Atlas Mountains also

if you are interested to learn more and see a metric ton of references to other literature, The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya is amazing

I'm currently reading The Book of Jubilees, which is a full history of 49 year periods between the time of Adam and Moses, and already it is very interesting to me - it says that Adam and Eve spent 7 years in the Garden of Eden and they were being taught how to farm, as they were required to "till the ground" - you can read it for yourself, that is another book that i was referred to by Apocalypse and it's very much consistent with what it says in there about how Adam was actually a guest of the king "God" who had chosen to teach the people of the region between the mediterranean and red sea how to farm, and was the beginning of agriculture after he was kicked out after his woman stole fruit from a tree that was said to be the exclusive property of the king

Critias clearly says that they were seafarers in general and had massive canals everywhere, and a very strong military

as for the atlantic islands, yes, there is even remnants of pyramids on Tenerife and several others, probably there is traces left here on Madeira and also the Azores

I don't know, this Richat hypotesis doesn't really convince me...

But I will read the Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya as you advice.

On the subject of Eden, there is a very interesting book called "Eden" by Anton Parks where the writer reports the translation of some sumerian tablets that tell an alternative story of the biblical Eden. In this story, the god Enki (who is sometimes represented as a snake or half snake) teaches men secret knowledge and especially metallurgy and how to make weapons. With this new knowledge, men try to attack the other gods and take the Eden, but are defeated and banished.

The same author wrote also another book called "The last march of the gods", that recount parts of the texts taken from the temple of Horus at Edfu. Among other things, these texts talk about a group of mythical islands which were placed in the west, and where ancient gods once lived, and were hit by a flood.

so, i ended up finishing the Timaeus and Critias book a lot sooner than i expected

turned out that after the text of Timaeus, there is like 150 pages of inane, scholarly commentary over the clearly glossed over summary of the science of medicine, which was a huge part of what Timaeus covered, and of biology and physics...

clearly, in my view, the fragmentary remnants of a science long ago mostly forgotten by humans

and so i leafed through, looking and looking "ok so where is more of this Timaeus?" and eventually nearly at the end of this ~400 page hardback, i find the start of Critias

Critias was fascinating... it starts by describing the great central capital of the civilization of Atlantis, and the massive earthworks and extensive, epically beautiful architecture of the buildings covered in gold, silver and copper, and all kinds of amazing stoneworks and waterworks

it then, in less detail, describes the provincial parts of this ancient nation, presumably spreading out to the east in the direction of what is now egypt, and described, very thinly, some of the customs of this culture, which was extremely well developed in technology, martial prowess, and land-based but waterway driven market economy, and hints at a few of their traditions that led to probably thousands of years of progress

it also asserts that the timing of this civilisation's existence was about 9000 years before the time of plato

sadly, just as it starts to get interesting, the beginnings of the hints of the breakdown of the society, and the coming of massive natural disasters, and a war, and then it trails off with "the rest has been lost"

fortunately there is other fragments that were recorded from other places, but there is zero doubt in my mind that not only was there a great nation largely based around the now desert region of north africa, with its capital on the atlantic coast now known as Mauritania, but that the entire history of our species dating from around 7000 years ago is all about the "winners" of the war that it starts to talk about, who obviously are now at the zenith of their influence, in this corrupted, disgusting social malaise that we see now around us

so, next i'm reading The Book of Jubilees, which will tell some of that history i'm craving to read more about in more detail, before i dig into two versions of Enoch that i haven't read before, plus a refresher on the one i have read

The Timaeus is very clear in saying that Atlantis was placed in the Atlantic Ocean, and also from there it was possible to arrive to the continent on the "opposite side". North Africa could be part of their empire, but not the center.

Also the philosopher Proclus told briefly about Atlantis, saying that it reigned over all the islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
