We were told coinbase had to sell surveillance software to government agencies to "recoup costs," but they apparently have enough money for generous employee exit packages and bitcoin development funding!

Will there be a signaling mechanism for the Taproot soft-fork deployed before the end of 2020?

If you use green wallet keep in mind that wallet (account) labels are stored on their servers.

It is not possible to self custody centralized tokens.

Not distributed, not your keys.

Not your keys, not your coins.

Encryption bans will not prevent criminals or our enemies from using it. They will go out of their way to use encryption if necessary.

An encryption ban will simply hurt law abiding honest citizens and make us incredibly vulnerable to malicious actors. https://t.co/Aw0uDjkOKP

US Department of Justice: "According to FinCEN, anonymizing service providers and some AEC issuers are money transmitters, whereas an individual or entity that merely provides anonymizing software is not."

Reminder why it is absolutely imperative that we build, use, and support open platforms.

Whirlpool is a fucking beautiful coinjoin implementation. If wasabi devs cared about their users they would switch to it. Hating the samourai devs is not an excuse, just run your own coordinator.

Everything else is a distraction.

We are about to enter the "then they fight us stage" and it is going to be fucking messy.

Then we win.

a simple @LNMarkets style liquid betting/prediction site for the election would probably be very popular

Government and corporate partnerships have a long history of double speak, false promises, and overreach.

I would be very surprised if this time is different. What I see are surveillance tools becoming more advanced and their widespread usage becoming increasingly normalized.

our grandparents were flying planes into combat at 21 years old but you are too scared to learn about bitcoin privacy tools

We have collaborators among us secretly working behind closed doors to attack bitcoin.

Cash will be banned and they will force cuck money on you.

I am not cool with that but that's just me.

The two main value props of "DeFi" are lack of KYC and reduced custodial risk but the reality is that most "DeFi" users are still exposed to both.

As with past schemes in this space, risks are being hidden from users by unethical promoters.

Lack of strong privacy guarantees are bitcoin's biggest weakness. Making private bitcoin usage easier, more accessible, and more effective would make bitcoin even better money and as a result should lead to an increase in adoption and therefore price.

Ripping RHR in 15 minutes. Should be a boring one.
