I’m no expert and haven’t tried it yet but apparently Derek Ross operates a relay that bans spammers. You need to pay a small amount to follow the relay so if you spam a lot your cost goes up
I was sceptical about NOSTR beating Twitter’s network effects but Nostr is at least 10x better already. Twitter doesn’t stand a chance in my opinion.
Why:
- decentralized/ immutable
- centralized twitter development can’t keep up with open source development
- spaces for Nostr already here
- zaps incentives content creators to spend more time on Nostr
- spam prevention by using paid relays
And this is just getting started.

- put a hashtag in front of your pubkey if you post it in your twitter bio
- follow paid relays to avoid spam and improve discoverability
