Opensource.com was not a direct source of revenue. Hard to quantify it's impact on financials.

nostr:npub1zft70jcu8cyq8yjzg3kmc9hs4cspkvwgvaku8hdstj6zz8qtfjqsumlecc Unfortunately the Rpi libraries don't work on other hardware, I used gpiod, and not all its features were supported on the Le Potato :(

nostr:npub1de04u0kd66y4velkd6cru8mxetpvrwrj6p2ca97qnuesm65v5a8qqmujk8 heh, speculation on my part, but I'm guessing they were either planning on doing it themselves but ran out of bandwidth, or they were thinking one of the companies that makes quiz show stuff would be able to get a solution together on short notice.

There are a few commercial systems that are like 80% of the way there and used for TV, but customization is expensive and slow.

nostr:npub1rlk0m2k654h4k5uypykg3yy5eq60sareu8czw8epczv3u3p0e6aqy98fqz we discussed that a bit on set.

It's something they definitely have to contend with. And I hope they take learnings from each video and lump them into the next.

Always better to not have a problem due to planning rather than luck!

nostr:npub1gc83m6ea3glwqh8803luq2umu8tph362kn95u5ujjhp4p0zg5ncspg8u2y Debian, nowadays. I used to run CentOS and Ubuntu Server but all my local stuff is Debian, and there are just two DO Droplets I still have on Ubuntu until they die and I resurrect them on Debian :D

nostr:npub1g3a5g8nqwh8du8fdcc39284zgatsq8vruhfvtycxs9vt6ytaej3qdmu80l same but substitute Safari or any other browser besides Chrome too

nostr:npub1cp9vlynjc03j2lda8z7mn4a4vf66us8xnlk32f3uecx90d6yfh0sf3mkgc magnetic ability seemed to be a big part but it was inconclusive whether that was the only way finding ability used for homing—I remember another study that showed they could still make their way with changing fields, but more reading required!

nostr:npub1j8atyyjt7xy9we7tyun5l0ce42yaen5gy6dwdekkv533wrv4ts5qlj00pg yep, and I know many hams who have never done a radio contact at all, I think that's just one of the more pasttimey things a lot of the older hams idealize (though for an introvert like me it's pretty stressful, like going to a party and blurting out a loud HELLO).

nostr:npub1j8atyyjt7xy9we7tyun5l0ce42yaen5gy6dwdekkv533wrv4ts5qlj00pg There are still some ardent hams in every corner of the world, working to get their DX awards :D

I mostly want to get into SDR and do some wild things with RF when I learn how to do them :)

My Dad's NOT allowed to push this button—or, well, he wasn't until recently! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIeavEhUhSw #hamradio #amateurradio

Just spoke to a developer building some open source tooling for RHEL today.

He was testing against Rocky Linux 9.

The nerve! He's not using one of his 16 free dev licenses for RHEL that Red Hat kindly gifted him! Terrible!

IT CAN GET PRETTY LOUD AT THE @45DRIVES STORAGE LAB! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QAtnuzjPog4
