Analyst Comments (AC): The response attack against the Houthi in Yemen open up yet another conflict for the US. Following Israel's response to the Hamas attacks, the US has now conducted strikes in Syria, Iraq and now Yemen in support of Israel. The fact that President Biden and the UK Prime Minister Sunak did not gather congressional/parliamental support before conducting strikes is being condemned within thier own countries. Although considered strategically necessary to thwart Iranian proxies worldwide, this campaign is not garnering political support at home. Most Americans do not understand the proxy system in place by Iran, and therefore the US reason for many of these strikes. This does not bode well politically for the current administration.

Bitcoin ETFs Secure Approval Exactly 15 Years After Hal Finney’s Iconic ‘Running Bitcoin’ Tweet: "Running bitcoin,” were the words of legendary cypherpunk Hal Finney on Jan. 11, 2009, shortly before becoming the first person to download and receive bitcoin (BTC) two days later. On Wednesday, exactly 15 years after Finney’s tweet, bitcoin got its first spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) approved by the U.S. SEC. Approved ETF providers include financial giants BlackRock (BLK) and Fidelity, while crypto native fund Grayscale’s popular Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) has been uplisted as an ETF as well. Analyst Comments (AC): Following the SEC's approval of 11 BTC ETFs yesterday, trading in those ETFs will start today. Bloomberg estimates as much as $4B may flow into these ETFs on day 1, but nobody really knows what to expect since this is the first ETF not front-run by Wall Street insiders and Bitcoin is transparent compared to other assets. We can certainly expect manuever and manipulation to engineer large trading returns, so market caution is warranted and accountability sought daily.

A study of the mechanics of supply and demand suggest a probable bump in USD price initially, followed by short-term profit taking, followed by a continued and steady price rise while institutional money flows into the market. Add to this the halving, continued decline of the USD as a world reserve currency, and 2024 looks promising for BTC holders. Wisdom would sugest prudence and strong security protocols around any Bitcoin investments, holdings and communications BEFORE what may turn out to be a chaotic year.

Analyst Comments (AC): As US hegonomy continues to wane, other countries will look to pick up the power that comes with economic, political, military and social leadership. According to Economist Stephanie Pomboy, the US demise is "really upon us" and Washington is "sleeping through it" (on Tucker Carlson show). The move of BRICS to alternative forms of international settlement and the increasing interest of other conntries to manuever to a "post-US dollar" system is already leading to instability in markets and geopolitics. Countries must make a decsion how global trade will occur, how to control local and regional economies, and transact. 2024 will most likely be a year of foundational change and instability.

Analyst Comments (AC): Monitoring Bitcoin and crypto policies worldwide give us knowledge of the mechanics of adopting certain policies. When the Nigerian Central Bank learned since 2021 that banning crypto does not stop it's use, they eventually acquiesed and lifted the ban this week. Indonesia, on the other hand, is adopting a centralized (taxable) system like the US Commodities exhange (the CME). This allows cryptocurrency trading through exchanges, but it remains to be seen how it affects the P2P networks.
