Wouldn’t the democratic thing to do be to ask Democratic Party voters to select a new torch rather than passing it?

It's 2 days after Biden has pulled out. Harris has absorbed all the funds (my understanding is that is what happens because she's on the same ticket with Biden). "I have enough delegates behind me." Record donations flowing in. Most competitors falling in line.

It's hard to not look at this and see a carefully orchestrated campaign to put Harris on track for president when she likely wouldn't have stood a chance in an open democratic primary. Given the war chest she now has, she is the de facto candidate. Others that for sure have ambitions are falling in line because they understand this and want to maintain their chances of at least securing senior positions given the biggest role is now out of reach.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party voters had zero say in who their candidate is. This is not a partisan issue. This is blatant undermining of the democratic process, and it should worry everyone - within the US and in the Western world.

The Wisdom of History by J. Rufus Fears. Bit hard to find but excellent.

If you think about what the digital fabric of information, knowledge, time, and money should look like in an ideal world there's just no way to not see #Nostr and #Bitcoin as far superior approaches to what (most of us) grew up with.

Lyn's article is great at explaining this. It takes brain washing - in a good sense - and unlearning what has been indoctrinated to get there, but it's worth it.

The quickest path to understanding how to do something is is to start doing that thing

"Rejecting authority in regard to knowledge was not just a matter of abstract analysis. It was a necessary condition for progress, because, before the Enlightenment, it was generally believed that everything important that was knowable had already been discovered, and was enshrined in authoritative sources such as ancient writings and traditional assumptions."

- David Deutsch, The Beginning of Infinity

Once you let nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe ‘s point sink in that everything should be getting cheaper as human tech advances the magnitude of fiat theft by politicians can’t be unseen. It just doesn’t make sense for things to get more expensive.

Highly recommend Dan Carlin’s Supernova in the East series. So much history, so many atrocities, most of which are forgotten. So much background that helps shed light on today’s conflicts. People have forgotten - which is why the “turnings” exist.

VCs are totally paralyzed. And yet, if you know how to structure a deal, this is the time to make the investments of a lifetime.

I wonder how long the armchair crew will manage to stick around.

Tried OpenAI's math mentor. The drawing made me laugh out loud 😂
