Hi, I’m the latest Nostr account

I have just returned from Twitter, and you guys are missing NOTHING. I follow a handful of mostly "toxic" maxis, and I get scammers reading charts, Udi conversations, and cheap chinese gimmick ads as most of my feed. Everyone is mad and conditioned by the algo to construct garbage takes. Arthur VanPelt called @fiatjaf a nobody, and @hodlonaut is still simping on Elon. It is like dying and going to Hell.

One of the most misguided perceptions I know of is the image of a cypherpunk or a cryptoanarchist as a hermit that does not ever leave their computer, super private so they can't show up and enjoy life. In reality, that is very rarely the case.

Cryptoanarchists are very conscious about their relationship to the mainstream world. They care about their health, diet, they travel in order to see where they are treated best. They have families and they invest huge amounts of energy to make sure their kids have a good chance in life, avoiding shitty services like public education or healthcare systems.

When I look for role models for life, I don't find them in normies. They settle for the average too easily. Yet when I talk to normies, they have this tendency to believe my lifestyle means to settle for less, for a limited life. What limits them is their job, their mortgage, the school where their kid goes to,... It is because they can't even imagine that being free expands your life.

You don't settle for the mundane, you expand and grow.

I know I don't zap as much as I get zapped lately, BUT I use the sats to cover channel opens for my routing node. Even if I don't zap you, I might have helped ferry your zap to its destination!

I’m unable to conjure together the exact words that describe how I felt this week. But here’s me trying. I was back at the mines today, and was thinking a lot about the people and protocol that brought me here.

In my whole life, I don’t think there has been any one, much less a whole village of people that have shown me the love and friendship that nostr and bitcoin have given me.

From every hug, hi, conversation, smile, and love, you feel the true genuine care we all have for each other. It’s an overwhelming feeling of family.

Nobodies more important than the other, because we’re ALL important. We all come here everyday to share the support of what’s right, and to have some fun together with no negative bs.

This was a big opportunity for me, and I left my comfort zone and accepted it. Thank you for bringing me and allowing me in your space.
