ユーロポールは28日、子どもの性的搾取に関してデンマークやスペインなど9か国で合同の取締りを行い、デンマーク国籍の男などあわせて25人を逮捕したと発表しました。
容疑者らは、AIで生成された子どもが性的虐待を受ける画像を閲覧できるサイトを運営していた疑いなどがあるということです。
ユーロポールは、画像は完全に人工的に生成されたもので、実在する子どもの被害者はいないものの、子どもを性的搾取の対象にすることを助長していると指摘し、取締りに踏み切ったと説明しています。
これまでに33の住宅を捜索し、173の電子機器を押収したということで、さらに逮捕者が増える可能性があるとしています。
ユーロポールは「被害者の有無を根拠に刑事罰を逃れることは許されない」として、取締るための新たな捜査手法が必要だと指摘しています。
