I'm inclined to agree. Ubuntu for me, has always been a go to choice for the masses and often a first dip of a toe into the scary unknown world of Linux. Having some sensible defaults that cover off 90% of usual tasks without any thought for this audience is entirely sensible. May not be ideal, but what in this world is.
