Another thought on cashu, seems like something that a large institution could use and bootstrap their existing trust and reputation. I.e. Apple could just decide to run a mega mint and make every iPhone have a bitcoin wallet that uses ecash, giving instant bitcoin payments between iPhone users (over iMessage, airdrop, NFC anything etc.) whilst allowing them to pay any lightning invoice and avoiding exposing users to anything complex at all. Instant privacy win for users too. Would they basically need to wait for every user to send their ecash out the mint to another mint or lightning invoice? Or can they just decide to move everyone’s ecash themselves to a different mint and just close theirs?

When nostr becomes mainstream users won't know they are using nostr, they will just expect apps to be on the ONS: open network standard (nostr, bitcoin, ln/ecash etc.) which means their account is interoperable with everything else they use
