Background

In many applications, there's often a need to format numbers according to different requirements, such as displaying them as currency, percentages, or human-readable file sizes. Laravel didn't have a dedicated utility for this, so with the help of the community, I decided to create one. I've been working on this utility class for a a little while now, and am really excited that it was merged into the framework. Let's take a look at what it offers.

It might be good to use a completely new Zeus Wallet, use it via VPN and receive it via a Simple Taproot Channel opened via LSP.

A question to the pleb community.

Some services (e.g. nostr:npub1zv7d9l5ac0zdzeh5mzfyaegcdgcwn8m2uaxdpsj93hgp4nqjmd0s6k82ke ) allow the stacking of sats directly to a lightning wallet.

If you stack these sats directly to your lightning node, then it should improve the routing and capacity of this node.

So why not stack directly to the own node and have a win/win situation:

- increased bag with its seed

- continuity increasing capacity of the lightning node for better routing

Have I made a mistake in my thinking?

#bitcoin #lightning #dca #stackingsats #asknostr

When stacking sats directly to your Lightning Node, the KYC operator (like Pocket Bitcoin) can see your Lightning Node.

Freedom to get rekt.

If you want to potentially pay outrageous on chain fees due to a stuck zap to nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 - you can go right ahead. It's in the admin section of the settings.

Invoices and lightning addresses were always allowed, it was just zaps, which are typically low in value and are done without the user knowing they're potentially paying a hodl invoice. This is also wasteful to the network from a locked htlc perspective.

This was never a hypothetical situation, there has been many instances of this happening to our users since Zeus Pay, and with on chain fees being really high, is not worth making small payments that get stuck. But if you want to do that now, glhf.

Getting rekt because of DNS spoofing or DNS cache poisoning is not nice either.

Please implement DNSSEC.

Please fix this, it's important.

It is not a complete solution for all security problems, but it is an important measure.

The protection of users and their data should be a top priority.

The promotion of custodial services distracts from Bitcoin's main ideal, which is financial autonomy. If we relinquish control of our keys to third parties, we run the risk of violating the principle of "not your keys, not your Bitcoin". This opens the door for unwanted freezing or confiscation of funds, which centralized financial systems enable. Bitcoin was designed to eliminate these very control points and give each individual complete control over their finances. Custodial services can thus be seen as a regression to old financial systems, which Bitcoin actually wanted to overcome.
