And here's some awesome live footage from German TV.
Music critics are forever tracing the origins of punk to deeper strata in rock history and at some point they're going to have to concede that its origins lie in gospel, but THAT'S a whole other story. If there's one band which can lay claim to the term "proto-punk" it's The Monks with their sardonic lyrics, squalls of feedback and couldn't-give-a-fuck attitude. It's surprising these American GIs stationed in Germany weren't court-martialed for some of their lyrical content, and yes, that's a goddamn banjo keeping time there in the background.
First time I saw a picture of Javier Milei I thought he was wearing one of Cyril Jordan's wigs.
In honour of Milei taking Argentina, I will be posting nothing but garage rock for the next 24 hours.
Peter Hitchens did a brain-melting white label remix of this which YouTube won't let me link to, so the original will have to do for now.
Yeah, there were a few at a show I was at the other night - and we're getting close to summer here in Australia.
Pure fucking gold

Didn't know where to post this, but decided in #discuss
Hopefully have Peter Hitchens on nostr one day, maybe the Hitchens twitter repost bot in the meantime might be good.
Anyway.

Fascinating guy and his split with Phase Fatale on Hospital Productions was killer.
I wish Peter were on Nostr, searching his own name, so he could see this.
The first time I've seen him smile is when the dude told his mum he looked like a pedo.
Pretty sure Hitchens used to put stuff out on this label.
Lol no. That sounds hilarious though.
Last night I dreamed that Peter Hitchens had a side career producing industrial techno a la Silent Servant - and under his real name no less. It was only 20 minutes after I woke up that the true absurdity of such an idea hit me.
Day 17 of No Nut November. Hang in there lads!

The poms are all asleep - time to post this banger.
I've still yet to find a web client that doesn't annoy the shit out me, usually due to notifications not loading. I tend to switch between Iris and Primal, but they both drive me insane.
They were fantastic. Fall-like in their commitment to only playing recent material (with a couple of oldies) and there are few other bands who'd have the balls to close their set with an unreleased track.
