This changed the rate of "burn."

At least, that's my understanding.

I don't think that quite represents what the addition of blobs did to the issuance/burn rate. I don't believe the fundamental design changed. What changed was the demand for blockspace.

I remember feeling terrified in 2020, after significantly increasing my exposure a few months prior (summer).

It's still hard for me respond emotionally to price moving down as risk moving down, and vice versa; although, I do try to act according to that, and stack sats harder in proportion to the size of moves down.
