Most large companies have a board of directors and a CEO...

If the CEO is doing a good job, the board of directors keep the CEO in charge, if appropriate, for life, if he/she is a good manager and gets the job done with excellence, there is no need to change, if you are a shareholder you would not like a CEO change, moreover if the earnings are good and the company is doing great under that individual leadership...

Let's extrapolate...

Most countries in this world under the political system we call democracy have one president which is changed every 4 to 6 years depending on the country... Consider that a president is a company's CEO, the fact that we have to choose a new one every 4 years is part of a big problem and one that speaks volumes alone, that individual after three years in office has little to no power and therefore his capability to negotiate long term deals with other nations is questionable... The next president to come and his backers may cancel or change that deal...

Current tines are very difficult and important players like UK, Germany, France and US keep changing leaders, in caaes like UK very often and with that, policies as well, making them unreliable partners in many geopolitical matters that affect regions and their own constituency..

IMO, change is needed, our current system needs an upgrade, perhaps removing the cap of two presidential terms would be an easy and good start, a good president (Country's CEO) could do as many terms as the constituency allows him/her to do... Extending the terms to 6 years would be another good step, making the system more stable and focus in the constituency needs instead of being reselected every 4 years... Reducing the maximum age to be in office seems needed as well, having octogenarians in office is illogical.

What would you change in our current political system is anything?

Didn't know about Switzerland, called a friend from there and asked him, he told me is true, according to him always have been... crazy, well, they definitely don't have a perfect system but definitely better, therefore a model

What an idiot, this behavior is what will make the world to isolate and ignore North America. F bullies, nowadays a laughing stock

Reading the news today is getting unreal, this world is going mad

so true, most new TV shows are truly unwatchable, even legendary shows like ”Doctor Who” are ruined, don't know anybody from my friends that keeps watching, everyone I knew that used watch it stopped...

Ridiculous, now they want to destroy James Bond among many others, they manage to shit all over Star Trek, thanks God for New Worlds thought, but Discovery is a shit show of wokenism hard to watch more than few chapters, it is so in the face is sad, I just don't get it. Why don't they invent their own new woke garbage TV shows and enjoy themselves together with their little 1 to 3% of the population that may be into that non sense?

That consistent desire to impose their absolute dystopian reality, which is completely disconnected from the real world is so annoying!

And you are right, this can't be making money, hence the theory that is a programming for the new generations, but to what end? To be transgender? To be transhumanist? To be gay? How? if that is true, Do they really think that brain washing our kids will change their biology?

idiots, people should stop reading all that garbage for sure, they exist because we read them

Portugal is questionable, the latest poll showed 80% of the young wanted Kamala to win in USA thus, supporting liberal crazy policies which are a virus spreading in western European countries... it is fracturing the population into two bands, the divide and conquer scheme doesn't get old

What a sad picture...

To watch the EU "leaders" of Germany, France, and many others show their true colors, the USA administration is changing and thus thei EU leaders policy toward the East...

All the EU subordinates that until yesterday were war mongers and will shout at any attempt of dialogue or peace talks ( Orban from Hungary and Robert Fico from Slovakia being the only ones with the balls to speak truth to power and there was an attempt on the life of Fico ) are now in line changing their tune speaking of diplomacy and the possibility of a peace treaty

After this, it should be quite clear Brussels does not govern itself, it has a boss and it is USA...

I would assume Europeans are waking up to this fact in anger, they don't vote in the US elections and their leader do not represent their interests but the ones of a foreign state...

The new US administration already anounced will increase tariffs and reduce net income taxes to 0% to workers making less than $100K, the difference in tax collection will be covered by tariffs, those companies that wants to sell their products in USA will have to pay the tariff or open factories in US territorry hiring Americans to avoid the tariffs...

Brilliant plan and very good for Americans, the median class will finally get some oxygen,

As for Eurooe, much worst, following the USA policies the German economy is in big troubles, no more cheap gas and oil from Russia, factories are closing and the workers losing their jobs and going into poverty levels not seen in Germany for decades, Germany is the industrial and economic muscle of Europe, now is barely surviving by itself, winter is coming and it will be worst if they do not take control of their foreign policy and start doing the right thing for their citizens. I assume revolutions will come in Europe, political ones... Meanwhile its citizens are experiencing recession and economic difficulties, harsh tines ahead ...

Maybe Europeans will stand up from their knees, although I doubt it, while in EU I observed something similar than in USA, apathy

Hello Nostr!

All set, let's explore a bit
