Low status fiat heretic. Often wrong. 2 + 2 = 4

Main criticism of MicroStrategy DID thing is that their use case should be easily replicable by enterprise email providers like Google and Microsoft.

Strangely it doesn't seem to be a current feature of those providers, but it seems trivial for them to just add an icon with "this person is in your organisation" (or the inverse).

It's also odd that they didn't use the Web 5 stack, but designed their own "inefficient" (thanks nostr:npub1t0nyg64g5vwprva52wlcmt7fkdr07v5dr7s35raq9g0xgc0k4xcsedjgqv for pointing this out) implementation.

I honestly really want to see some kind of user-controlled alternative to today's current digital ID schemes, but I think best case scenario is that Orange becomes a helpful failure case study.

I'm not a fan of Saylor's influence on Bitcoin, but to be fair to this product launch:

- Focuses on an actual end user application which I haven't seen much from the DID space before

- Can be adopted one organisation at a time, so they're not relying on wider spec agreement to get started

- MicroStrategy actually has a sales org and is motivated, which could make a difference to see more use in practice. Won't be the thing that sets the world ablaze with DID interest, but could be a useful case study.

I read your Nostr article (it's great, thanks!), but I think DIDs (linked to Bitcoin) must have some role in a future where we want to establish identities for people that cannot be revoked. All the current digital ID schemes being pushed have this as a major risk, and we've already seen governments like India fuck people over. Obviously Saylor doesn't care about THAT issue, but maybe some small progress on the MS use cases could still move things forward.

Robosats ➡️ new Tor Mutiny wallet ➡️ Phoenix KYC-free spending stack

Nice. Hadn't made that connection before about no-KYC premiums. Only plebs using these markets, so premium just shows that the suits are selling at a discount on KYC exchanges 👌

"Inflation more than expected" = "Deflation more than expected" * -1

The errors are in one direction at the moment. That will change, but the error making will continue.

Hot take for Nostr: the claim that all plants are dangerous to eat doesn't make logical sense.

Yes, even edible plants may produce compounds that are toxic. Every toxin is toxic in its own particular way. The body is a complex system; sometimes a chemical may benefit the body in one way while detracting from it in another. Sometimes a compound may only be toxic in certain concentrations or health conditions. Sometimes a toxin is quickly broken down in digestion and has no ill effect.

Even without that level of nuance, the belief that all plants are unsafe to eat doesn't make logical sense when you look at the animal kingdom and human history. Obligate herbivores, like cows, live their whole lives eating nothing but plants in perfect health. This should not be possible if plants are unsafe to eat because of their toxins.

You can tell which animals are naturally carnivores, omnivores, or herbivores by studying their teeth. Humans have omnivore teeth, and despite enormous variation, almost all human cultures have omnivorous diets -- yes, including nomads that get held up as the hunters living under a theoretically perfect meat-based diet. They are called hunter-gatherers because they gather (forage) as well. The closest culture I know of to living carnivore, the Inuit, still ate vegetable matter like berries at the rare times when they could.

Clearly, meat is health-giving for most people. Some can live well (but do we know for how long?) on a diet of meat alone. Carnivore and other high-meat diets are documented to have corrected serious health issues in many individuals.

I'm just suggesting to the more aggressively carnivore: take a step back and a deep breath, because you are coming across very arrogantly. Your diet may not be ideal for every individual, and to insist that it is because plants are toxic does not reflect the broader perspective I've touched on above.

There's no call to get rude about dietary choices. Save that anger for tyrants who want to be your master.

Kind of funny that on Nostr the null hypothesis is that plants are trying to kill us 😂

Great post. Yes, eat some more meat and less sugar and processed food, but also use that extra brain power to apply some logical reasoning about veg/berries/nuts etc.

Yo dude, everyone knows he blocked you on Twitter, you can stop telling us 😅

Would love to see some original chirps now that you're both using Nostr and can't block each other 🤘

Although, 100% agree with Stephan here. People need to stop looking for logical consistency in government action, unless that logic is with respect to survival and power.

I've tried my best to listen to Joe Rogan the last couple of months. Every now and then there's an interesting guest who's not a podcaster/comedian, and I'm intrigued.

But it just turns into a really tedious conversation where the guest seems to be trying to accommodate Rogan's interview style, which is actually just to interrupt their more profound insights with comments about exercise.

He seems like a good enough guy, and it's great that he's popular and sometimes asks tough questions, but I can't do it - let alone for the typical 3 hours!

I thought "Four more years, pause." would make a great t-shirt, but the White House outdid themselves with the transcript:

"Four more years (inaudible)."

Gonna buy some non-KYC Bitcoin so hard

This is why governments are attacking financial privacy and Bitcoin. It's all about taxes (aka mafia protection fee).

But they still can't accept Bitcoin 🤷‍♂️

This shit from Twitter and Reddit was really helpful in getting me to fully quit checking them 🙏

Wtf, I love Joe Biden now?
