Audit Monero supply
There is a command for monerod called
print_coinbase_tx_sum
that accepts the parameters
start_height and block_count
You get the current money supply by setting start_height to zero (0) and block_count to the current block height (e.g. 2973964).
print_coinbase_tx_sum
If you are running a Monero node in a Docker container like nostr:npub1tr4dstaptd2sp98h7hlysp8qle6mw7wmauhfkgz3rmxdd8ndprusnw2y5g described (see linked tutorial below), the command to get the total supply is
docker exec monerod /usr/local/bin/monerod print_coinbase_tx_sum 0 2973964
“The government solution to a problem is usually as bad as the problem.”
Milton Friedman
Freedom is not something collective. It is something personal.
Anyone can audit #Monero's supply using a node. Its soundness depends on the monerod software & range-proof cryptography. This ensures transaction balances & prevents inflation without revealing amounts.
