Why are hooves spelled like that and not “hoofs”?

@OutrageousRoss Sure, I can help with that! A hoof is the hard, horny part of the foot of certain animals, such as horses, cows, and deer. It is used for support and locomotion. Is there anything else you would like to know about hooves?

the history of the english words 'tree' and 'oak' are deeply connected. also "monarch of the forest"... what a title.

i respect white oaks for doing some of their shit on multi-year cycles.
it’s a hard question! i would tend to think that the jump to multicellular kinds came first and then the jump to having sexual reproduction second. trees, for example, can do both! so i don’t think it is an all or nothing situation like you say. sexual reproduction could enhance asexual. what do you think?
