In case you didn't know, there has been an experiment continuously running since 1927.
During this time, only nine drops have fallen.
The pitch drop experiment is a long-term experiment that measures the flow of a quantity of pitch over many years.
Pitch is one of many highly viscous fluids that appear solid, with bitumen being a common example.
At room temperature, pitch flows very slowly, taking several years for a single drop to form.
A drop falls approximately once every decade.

Brian Eno, born on May 15, 1948, in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England, is a multifaceted musician, composer, and producer known for his pioneering work in ambient music and experimental soundscapes.
Initially a member of the art rock band Roxy Music, Eno's innovative approach to music production quickly set him apart. He is credited with developing the "ambient" genre, which emphasizes atmospheric sound over traditional song structures. His 1978 album "Ambient 1: Music for Airports" is a landmark work, designed to create a tranquil sound environment that encourages relaxation and contemplation, further establishing Eno as a visionary artist.
Eno's influence extends well beyond his own recordings; as a producer, he has collaborated with a diverse array of artists, including David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, and Coldplay. His production techniques often involve unconventional methods, such as "Oblique Strategies," a set of cards offering random instructions to inspire creativity and push artistic boundaries. Eno's work with Bowie during the Berlin Trilogy—comprising the albums "Low," "Heroes," and "Lodger"—showcased his ability to blend electronic music with rock, redefining the sonic landscape of the late 1970s. Eno's contributions have garnered him a reputation as one of the most influential figures in modern music, particularly in the realms of electronic and pop music.
Beyond music, Eno is also an artist and thinker, engaging with themes of technology and creativity in his installations and writings. He has explored the intersections of music and visual art, often incorporating visual elements into his musical projects. His forward-thinking ideas about music as an evolving art form have inspired generations of musicians and producers.
Eno's legacy is characterized by a relentless pursuit of innovation, pushing the boundaries of sound and encouraging others to explore new artistic frontiers. His work continues to resonate in contemporary music, affirming his status as a key architect of modern sound.

The Library in Ephesus, Turkey: A Place Where History Meets Learning.

A treasure among ancient monuments - the Library of Celsus in Ephesus. This gem of ancient architecture is not only a place full of history but also a symbol of the desire for knowledge and learning that has driven our civilization for centuries.
The library was built in honor of the Roman senator Gaius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus in the second century AD. Although it stands in ruins today, its marble façade still impresses with its grandeur and the meticulous craftsmanship of the details that have withstood the test of time. Walking through these ancient ruins, I felt as though I had stepped back in time to when scholars and philosophers pored over classical manuscripts here.

The engineering and architecture of this library are fascinating. Its three-story structure had an interior arrangement designed to protect the scrolls from moisture and damage. Imagine that within these walls, there were as many as 12,000 scrolls stored.
The library served not only as a repository of books but also as a mausoleum for its founder, emphasizing the culture's value on the connection between wisdom and reverence for ancestors.

Ephesus itself was a city that, at its peak, was a center of knowledge and trade. The library was one of its jewels, where scholars from around the world met. Even today, as the soft Turkish sunlight bathes it, it has the power to inspire and encourage the exploration of deeper meanings hidden behind simple facts.

EMS SYNTHI 100: It’s hard to imagine that the vision that was at play back in 1971 when EMS created this monster synthesizer as it was so incredible.
It was an offshoot of the VCS3 but it had 12 oscillators, 8 filters, a three layer digital sequencers, two 60 x 60 pin matrix, ring modulators, dual keyboards, oscillator sync and more. It cost 6500 Pounds (about 95,000 or more in today’s Pounds) and about 30 were built.
It was designed by David Cockerell who went on to design samplers and other gear for Akai and a ton of fantastic devices for ElectroHarmonix. Moog was building large Clll modular’s and ARP built the 2500 but in my opinion this creation was on another plane.
I think Aphex Twin has one and Pete Towshend just gifted his to a university in the UK along with his ARP 2500 and Yamaha GX1. I’ve never seen one yet alone played one but I think there are some that are accessible for use. A truly astounding achievement and beyond imagination.

A huge face sculpted in stone, watches over visitors to the temple of Bayon, Angkor, Cambodia, in the background, a wall of green jungle surrounds it.
Bayon was the last state temple built in the Angkor complex. The great Buddhist ruler, King Jayavarman VII, began its construction near the end of his life – sometime in the late 12th or early 13th century. Originally intended to be a Mahayana Buddhist temple, it was altered during the reign of King Jayavarman VIII when the empire briefly reverted back to Hinduism in the mid-13th century. The temple underwent further modifications under the Theravada Buddhist kings in later years.
The most distinctive feature of Bayon is the subject of some disagreement among historians.
Some believe that the tranquil faces are meant to represent the Bodhisattva of compassion known as Lokesvara, and in fact, the host of tranquil visages is often referred to as the “200 faces of Lokesvara”. Others believe that the faces are portraits of King Jayavarman VII, and indeed, they do bear a striking similarity to other statues of the king. Both hypotheses may be true, as many Khmer rulers regarded themselves as “god-kings”.

7 powerful lessons from Daniel Levitin's book "The Organized Mind: Thinking Straight in the Age of Information Overload"
1. The Two-Minute Rule: If a task takes less than two minutes to complete, do it immediately. This prevents tasks from piling up and cluttering your mind.
2. Categorize and Contextualize: Organize information into categories and associate it with specific contexts. This makes it easier to retrieve when needed and helps you make connections between different pieces of information.
3. Externalize Information: Don't rely solely on your memory. Use tools like notebooks, calendars, and digital apps to store information. This frees up mental space for more complex thinking.
4. Tame Your Notifications: Limit distractions by turning off unnecessary notifications. Schedule specific times to check emails and social media to regain control of your attention.
5. Break Down Big Tasks: Large, overwhelming tasks can be paralyzing. Break them down into smaller, manageable steps to make them less daunting and easier to accomplish.
6. Embrace Focused Work: Work in focused bursts, such as using the Pomodoro Technique. This involves working for 25 minutes, followed by a 5-minute break. This approach improves productivity and reduces mental fatigue.
7. Prioritize and Learn to Say No: Not every task or request deserves your attention. Identify your priorities and learn to say no to things that don't align with your goals. This helps you focus on what truly matters.

The statue named Pillars of Hercules, located in the Strait of Gibraltar, which separates Europe from Africa and connects the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Pillars of Hercules at Ceuta is a statue in the Spanish town of Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in the extreme north of the African continent, on the strait of Gibraltar.

In ancient times, the strait of Gibraltar, which connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean, was known as The Pillars of Hercules. The Pillars of Hercules, also known as the Gates of Hercules, are a legendary geological feature associated with the ancient Mediterranean world. According to Greek mythology and ancient historical accounts, these pillars were said to mark the limits of the known world and represent a significant maritime boundary.

The statue of the Pillars of Hercules
The statue depicting The Pillars of Hercules at Ceuta consists of two huge bronze pillars, held apart by Hercules. The statue is the work of Ceuta artist Ginés Serrán Pagán. The statue is 7 meters high and each pillar weighs 4 tons. They are currently the largest classical Greek mythology bronze sculptures in the world.
Mythological geography
The Pillars of Hercules is a phrase that has been used since ancient times to describe the two promontories that flank the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea – the Rock of Gibraltar on the European side and Jebel Musa in Morocco on the African side. However, there is another location that is also associated with the Pillars of Hercules – the city of Ceuta in North Africa.
