Happy new year chief! šŸ«”šŸ™Œ

Happy new year Mark, I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be epic!!!!!

Happy new year freaks!!! It’s all about enjoying the journey, not focusing on the ends, if we do, we’ll miss all the joyous scenery along the way.

From this time last year, I’ve stacked, i’ve mined (hosted not in my house 🫣, 25p electricity kind of does away with it), I’ve ran, I’ve biked (not as much as I’d have liked), I’ve worked (on meaningful activities), the option of cutting back on time spent in the fiat mine is within reach. Some articles published, some written and sitting in people’s inbox 😫

Best pieces of work for me were one of the articles that led to writing a book (that my mum has read, and liked), which in turn led to one of the best articles i’ve ever written (another world of what I used to research) which is currently being revised from a perspective piece into a pseudo literature review. Not the form I wanted, but may help it get published…… who knows.

Now to work on 2025 goals, maybe publish the book (sorry for the slow response nostr:npub1w8ep3xc7s6kaf298rr6xhh5zy5amndlnceyulmt6xkg7tuhq3qdsqhx9ds), publish more, meet with bitcoiners in real life (carry over 2024 goal, online chats and emails don’t count, sorry nostr:npub1wl39ydk5rpecvtrzhq67afl9ykn2ty2xdxdkfmyan0rss3f3ma5sndznlx ), write more response articles to crappy Bitcoin related research, meeting with people using Bitcoin in their business (for research), buy a new bike which then leads to having a day at a bike park (with my brother and nephew) a touch fiat but may use cycle to work scheme.

Nothing too excessive, but focus still needed, my Bitcoin patter/chat up needs improving. To be honest, my chat up lines were always kinda shit, so I’m just going to direct them towards what I’ve written, then they can come back all šŸ˜. Doubt that would have worked in a club in the naughties, but maybe it will work now.

#grownostr #bitcoin #thanknostr i love you guys.

Ga nostriches, interesting short piece by nostr:npub1xapjgsushef5wwn78vac6pxuaqlke9g5hqdfjlanky3uquh0nauqx0cnde, helping remind us, and reconfirming nostr:npub1w69ya7xs697hk3hky3gllryz8rwverfa0ylz89chf9qnhfcskc2s64zltw'S view point.

Don’t just ā€œhodlā€, spending and using gives #bitcoin value, great perspective in this piece that it is also about using the proof of work chain that both gives us power and gives our assets value.

Gm nostriches, looking like someone in the neighbourhood had a very good Christmas. 993 911. Unsure about what look like non period 18ā€ Fuchs look a like wheels, but some people point to Cindy crawford’s mole.

Really can’t justify a hobby box, so will keep an eye out for when I can get individual packs.

Wait until you get in a fight with your wife about you (who is not really into all that crap) not putting the Christmas decorations away and back into the attic!!!!!

Adding magic for the kids is all well and good, but I’m learning hard to understand why it is all either bollocks or propaganda or worse, falling for the Keynesian marketer’s lies.

Enjoy the Norse god winter celebrations Eric, it’s now what I’m all about.

Great rewind on nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5, challenge now is to put boost 2024 me in 2025, but balancing this against 37sat boost in nostr to ensure my great grandkids have at least a few sats left over.

Who says reading out boosts doesn’t change listener behaviour!!! nostr:npub1w4dsvkv5hq73p4wm6gadpcxs6fwshcys44f5tnnzze2g3hfs2p0qn23vhw

Thanks, mr obnoxious has really got me thinking over the last few months. I loved sharing the experience of the new cabinet that qualified them for their new roles…….. what, another person who did PPE and then went to advise/be a dog’s body for a sitting MP?

Ha ha ha, a Substack has crossed my mind, but a balance between the dog profile pic writer or the fiat goon with a jacket and tie is a choice for the new year.

šŸ‘ŒšŸ«”šŸ™Œ. Sitting back with my bit šŸæ, šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø on the daily.

Hey my British nostriches, as it looks like we and the greater world will survive another year, I’m feeling like we’re currently in an Orwellian alternate timeline with the labour government at the moment;

censorship is free speech,

increasing taxes in the name of growth,

paying (unproductive) public sector staff what their unions ask for to stop them calling the shots…..

Increased national insurance on all employers, because those running the business aren’t ā€œworking peopleā€,

These are the decisions of ministers who really don’t understand the impact of their actions.

We watch our brothers and sisters over the pond, some still crying about ā€œhowever could the uninformed masses vote for that oafā€ but knowing the reduction of government and acceptance of #bitcoin will likely supercharge their growth, while we effectively fumble in the metaphorical regulatory darkness.

I have no faith that Rachel Reeves has spent even 5 minutes understanding the value of the billions of Bitcoin the uk has seized (it’s of no interest to ā€œRachel from complaintsā€). Likely considering her mentor as someone with ā€œuseful policies and sensible ideasā€ to guide her actions. I worry that I will see history actually repeating, but rather than selling physical gold, selling the country’s digital replacement.

Rachel Reeves’s potential mistake would be so much greater than Gordon Brown’s, which is referred to far and wide. As an individualist I don’t care but I have some national pride. #bitcoin #onwards #grownostr #shitshowbritshow

Celebrating a Massive Year!

As we approach the end of 2024, I’m filled with gratitude for the journey we’ve shared, and I want to take a moment to thank you for being part of it. Our cellar is steadily emptying, and while that’s a bittersweet sight, it’s a clear sign of the incredible demand for our wines. With this, we can confidently invest in creating more and better wines deep into the future.

The 2021 vintage is nearly all gone. The 2021 Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon are on our Endangered Wine List and will soon be joined by the Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. If you’ve fallen in love with any of these wines, now’s the perfect time to secure your access to these rare, dwindling vintages by joining the Peony Lane Wine Club. Plus, our next shipment will arrive just in time for Valentine’s Day, making it the perfect gift for yourself or someone you love.

What's Coming in 2025

While watching our current inventory dwindle, I'm incredibly excited about what's aging in the barrels for 2025. The upcoming releases promise to showcase everything that makes our high-altitude terroir special.

- 2023 Estate Pinot Noir: During harvest, it was clear that this would be the best crop since I took over in 2019, but this wine has exceeded even my highest expectations. After careful aging, it’s showing incredible complexity, depth and quaffability already.

- 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon: It’s easy to see why our Cabernet Sauvignon was the first wine from the 2021 vintage to sell out. Aged in French oak, this wine has developed exceptional structure and depth, making it a rare and highly sought-after bottle.

- 2022 Satoshi’s Reserve: Representing the pinnacle of our 2022 harvest, Satoshi’s Reserve is a limited release selected from the finest barrel of each vintage.

Bitcoin & Wine: A Perfect Pairing

As Bitcoin breaks through the $100k mark, I’ve been reflecting on how much the world of Bitcoin and natural wine have in common. Both are products of patience, authenticity, and an unwavering belief in doing things the right way. We’ve received countless photos of empty Peony Lane bottles next to Bitcoin price charts. It’s a special combination—and it fills me with pride to see our community celebrating these shared ideals through our wines.

Looking Ahead to 2025 and Beyond

With limited quantities of some of our most popular wines remaining, now is the time to act. Once these wines are gone, they’re gone. The 2021 vintage was particularly unique, as I worked with new growers to craft varieties like Syrah, Tempranillo, and Merlot—wines that I may never make. While I have Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Malbec aging for future releases, the 2021 vintage remains truly one-of-a-kind.

Join the Peony Lane Wine Club to secure access to these rare, limited wines before they’re gone for good.

Wishing You A Wonderful Holiday Season

As we head into the holiday season, I’m honored to see Peony Lane wines find their way to your celebrations, bringing joy to your gatherings with loved ones. There’s nothing quite like sharing a bottle of pure, natural wine with the people you love—especially during this special time of year.

Thank you again for your continued support. I look forward to sharing many more memorable moments and exceptional wines with you in the year ahead.

Cheers,

Ben Justman

Peony Lane Wine

So pleased with my little contribution to the story, and peony lane’s contribution to my 2024, with added fun of working out how to receive wine at an address I don’t live. Don’t worry, the 2021 cab franc isn’t going into the glass, rather cold storage until I increase my stack (or have nostr:npub1qg8j6gdwpxlntlxlkew7eu283wzx7hmj32esch42hntdpqdgrslqv024kw around for dinner).
