I love seeing a 2022 YouTube video hailing a "new technique" that seems to be the same thing I saw done by someone I know back in 2016...
nostr:npub19j0d26cgaunr8zlkrkm4dn7zn30u9qrgd2q0t5kf6xzhnyhh7d3q3esy8a I found a note that said it can happen if you switch too quickly between games, or shut it down while in game / restart it with the reset button and it did not get to finish the autosave.
I solved my own problem! It seems retroarch.cfg became corrupt. Someone made an "app" that can fix it. You copy it into the APPS folder and launch it using RetroArch to replace the config file.

nostr:npub1c56m4ymujvqcwqlx9zrx9fyqp9hu8zmpk5j7pzmwffl6vmn9wpvq7nkdhv I used your guide for the reinstall of GarlicOS and it worked well. Back in business! I loaded up some ROMs and everything seems fine now. So it looks like the OS got slightly hosed somehow. π€·ββοΈ

I almost used "IRL" (In Real Life) and "online" as opposing things but then switched it to "offline" and "online" because you know what? Online life *is* real life.

nostr:npub134nz7a5kjr6pd54lc8yj9aredmw48ulux7r26ucdn76rkr7halxsq4sx9t I really should go more! It's so damn beautiful up there. (My wife went with her sister when she was in town visiting... I had to work.)

My wife sent me a photo and said "Cat is broken" so I told her to reboot it and she sent another photo "That fixed it!"

I saw an old co-worker and told her I still do contract work for the place we both worked at 4 years ago. She called me a saint for keeping things working there and I said "Ha! You haven't seem my hourly rate!"
My wife went to Door County (Wisconsin) without me and I said "Get me some syrup!" and she returned with a 1/2 gallon!
That should last a few months at least if I stick to my normal pancake regiment.

I had lunch with two of my friends who moved to China in 2019 for school & work and wow... they had some amazing stories! (One including a very threatening monkey on a mountain.)
It was cool to hear about the things they miss from the US (and the list of things they;ll take back with them) but ultimately they said they would probably never return to the US since health care here is so expensive.

I did find a few other posts online about some flickering issue with GarlicOS.
I'll probably just reinstall GarlicOS (which gives me the opportunity to do a two-card setup now).
