The heat wave in Central Asia kicks off with a boom

40.1C in Turkmenistan at Saragt,exact the same temperature reached at Sarakhs,in Iran just beyond the border

38.0C in the Turkmen capital Ashkabad,33.4C at Mashhad in Iran at almost 1000m asl.

Brutal heat also in Thailand with 42.9C at Tak and 42.8C at Thoen (and nights near 30C)

There was quite a big difference between the South and the North which was influenced by the cold pattern of Scandinavia (see map by DMI).
