Question for #gardenstr: is it just me or have you noticed a ton of reply-guys who are obsessed with “invasive” plants lately (most every platform - Reddit, TikTok, IG, not as much here)? Just seems like a lot of angst on that topic all the sudden. 😅 #asknostr #gardening

For the record, I never make videos with just text on a black screen so if you see alt-me out there (garden_variety_jess0), do me a favor and report them. Yeah one of the first things I mention is that if the answer to “why can you not forgive yourself?” Is “because I secretly know I’m gonna let myself down again” then that’s a personal responsibility problem and needs accountability applied.
One of the trending search phrases on #tiktok right now is “how do you forgive yourself” which is a really interesting phrase to go viral (though not surprising with the current level of collective guilt for perpetuating mass violence, but I digress) - but it provided the opportunity for me to pay forward a lesson my old therapist taught me: the why not and so what method. I took them away from my front flower beds and just use an edge tool and mulch, but I do see the appeal of having a solid border of some kind to block light because the grass is less likely to run under them into the beds. I suppose a low hedge row would work for the same reason. Or cardboard but it’s less pretty haha
