I love how I can just follow the few sane people who hang out on Mastodon without having to settle for an account on some Mastodon instance.
Some #nostr stuff I'm stil trying to figure out:
* If I run a local relay on each of my devices, I'll have multiple partial backups of my own notes and it'd be on me to merge that?
* It's probably better to run my own public relay with TLS?

I wish I was more of a conversationalist. My self esteem has grown a lot but I still don't know how to talk to new people and keep a conversation going. I tend to do well on topics that I find interesting but my brain zones out as soon as it's just chitchat. Though I also tend to info-dump.
Sigh.

Meanwhile I keep on living in a rather expensive rented flat with my ex-girlfriend (we still like each other) in a city I hate without any real friends because they all still believe in the pandemic and have been boosted into oblivion.

How could I have missed #nostr all this time?
I spent almost a year on building a product based on #ActivityPub, thinking it was the end-all be-all, despite it being filled with wrongthink censors on all sides, leading to a permanent netsplit.
No censorship resistance, massive self-censorship, no path towards a better future and the protocol isn't even elegant.
