A Gardenless Gardener; The One Who Plants The Gardens of Light.

#Persian dovecotes, or #pigeon towers, are architectural structures designed primarily for housing pigeons. These towers were significant in #Iran, particularly during the Safavid era (16th-17th centuries), due to their role in #agriculture by providing pigeon droppings as a valuable #fertilizer. Typically cylindrical, these towers were constructed from mud-brick and gypsum, featuring intricate designs with pigeonholes for #nesting. The #architecture of these towers was both practical and protective, ensuring #safety from predators and maximizing space for thousands of pigeons. Today, many such structures remain in #Isfahan province. Both industrial agriculture and chemical fertilizers made them out of operation and turn to ruins.

Jake Robinson's book Treewilding explores our complex relationship with trees, challenging readers to understand trees as intricate living systems beyond their traditional #urban roles. The #book introduces the concept of 'holobionts', highlighting how trees are deeply interconnected #ecosystems hosting numerous microbes and organisms.

Key themes include:

Ecological #Complexity: Trees are not just physical structures but dynamic, interconnected living systems

Environmental #Resilience: Understanding tree ecosystems can help design more #sustainable urban spaces

#Indigenous Knowledge: Emphasizing the importance of local and Indigenous leadership in #forest #restoration.

The book provides fascinating insights, such as the remarkable fact that #bacteria from a single 5-tonne tree could wrap around the Amazon Rainforest's perimeter over 1,000 times. Robinson also explores how small urban forest patches can surprisingly host diverse species, demonstrating the potential for #ecosystem #regeneration.

Treewilding ultimately invites readers to rethink trees as vital, complex systems essential to urban #health and environmental #sustainability.

"A Philosophy of Walking" by Frédéric Gros is a philosophical exploration of walking that examines how #walking transcends mere physical movement. The book explores walking as a profound intellectual and #spiritual practice through the lens of various

thinkers and philosophers.

Key Themes

Philosophical Perspectives: Gros investigates how different philosophers approached walking, including:

Thoreau's seclusion in #Walden Woods

Rimbaud's furious walks

Rousseau's method of thinking through walking

Nietzsche's mountainside wanderings

Kant's daily precise walks

Deeper Meaning of Walking

The #book suggests that walking is more than transportation - it's a way to escape identity and experience pure existence. As Gros writes, "By walking, you escape from the very idea of identity... The freedom in walking lies in not being anyone".

Meditative and Creative Practice

Walking is presented as a bridge between physical and mental activity, offering a meditative experience that can unlock #creativity and provide connection with the natural world.

The book is described as an "entertaining and insightful manifesto for putting one foot in front of the other", blending philosophical insight with a celebration of walking's transformative potential.

Essential #Permaculture Books

For those interested in studying permaculture, several foundational books provide a comprehensive introduction to its principles, ethics, and practical applications. Here are some of the most recommended titles:

1. Introduction to Permaculture by Bill Mollison

Often considered the foundational text of permaculture, this book covers the philosophy and principles of permaculture in an accessible manner. Mollison's work is a staple in many permaculture courses and provides a solid theoretical background alongside practical insights.

2. Gaia's Garden: A Guide to Home-Scale Permaculture by Toby Hemenway

This book is highly praised for its approachable style and focus on small-scale applications. It offers practical advice for creating ecological gardens, making it ideal for beginners who want to implement permaculture concepts in their own backyards.

3. Permaculture: Principles and Pathways Beyond Sustainability by David Holmgren

As one of the co-founders of permaculture, Holmgren presents a detailed exploration of the twelve principles of permaculture. This book serves as a bridge from basic concepts to more advanced applications, making it suitable for those who have grasped the fundamentals.

4. Practical Permaculture: for Home Landscapes, Your Community, and the Whole Earth by Jessi Bloom and Dave Boehnlein

This book provides a clear overview of permaculture concepts with practical design processes suitable for home landscapes and community projects. It's an excellent resource for beginners looking to apply permaculture in their immediate environments.

5. The One Straw Revolution by Masanobu Fukuoka

While not strictly a permaculture text, this book offers insights into natural farming methods that align with permaculture principles. Fukuoka's experiences and philosophies can inspire readers to adopt more sustainable practices in their gardening.

6. Creating a Forest Garden by Martin Crawford

Focused on designing spaces around woody plants, this book is particularly useful for those interested in forest gardening—a key aspect of permaculture design. It includes practical advice and case studies that illustrate successful implementations.

7. Water for Every Farm by P.A. Yeomans

This book addresses watershed management and the scale of permanence in design, providing valuable insights into water management practices within permaculture systems.

These books collectively cover a broad spectrum of topics within permaculture, from basic principles to specific applications, making them suitable for both newcomers and those looking to deepen their understanding of sustainable practices in gardening and land management.

I've written most of the instructions, imported resources and websites. Even I've made many climate maps for countries in which Persian speakers live. I've choosen a wholistic approach as many permaculture courses do. It starts with climate and ends in harvest and storage.

Now there are many obstacles to handle it and focus on project in order to do graphic design and interactive sheet building. I should work hard to pay my rent house and there is not enough free time to finish it. It needs at least a month full time attention. I'm looking for an opportunity to fundraise it. Also I should use an expert to convert all texts in Cyrilic alphabet in order to be readable for Central Asian Persian speakers.

#Libertarians built a kind of theological heirarchy. " #Invisible_hand " is their #God, #Private_property is their temple, #Libertarianism is their religion, #Govenment is their #Satan, and #freedom is their savior. Finally Security is their divine law.

Most of the disciples of #Austrian_Economy are binary-minded; when somebody criticize their cult they lable him as a #Marxist or #Communist or #socialist or the enemy of freedom. They represent their cult as a logical & rational idea but it seems as #dualism.
