"The Sick Kitten" (1903) by George Albert Smith is one of the first films in the history of the cinema using the close-up technique, and it's applied to a cat. https://t.co/nP8JWkn28U https://video.twimg.com/amplify_video/1849578407442452480/vid/avc1/672x506/2YfRzj9IMI52wOOa.mp4?tag=16

Back in 1904, Harry Houdini, the famous escape artist, got called out by the police in Dresden, Germany. They didn't believe he was the real deal, thinking his escapes were all smoke and mirrors or maybe he was cheating with hidden keys or tools.

Instead of taking them to court for bad-mouthing him, Houdini decided to show them up in person. He agreed to escape from their toughest handcuffs, which they claimed were impossible to get out of.

In front of everyone, Houdini pulled off the escape, no lawsuit needed. This move not only shut up his doubters but made his reputation even bigger. He proved he was the real master of escape without needing a judge to tell everyone he was legit.
