In right hands nunchaku (real ones, wood and metal chains) can be very good weapon at close range.
Metal part of chain of nunchaku can be used to deflect swords, and even choke the neck.
No! the real ones will make someone burse and bleed if swung correctly.
You have to find the right balance and get use to it swinging nunchaku, or beginner will cont. slap them selves. Use fake foam ones at first then buy real ones when you master it.
If' you are into nunchaku practice for many years, beginner going to slap them selves out of foolish horse playing.
