Writing the Great American Bitcoin Novel ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿงกโœ๏ธ

Yup. The world seems just a little bit brighter through this purple lense ๐Ÿ’œโšก๏ธ

Generally configurable feeds would be a huge win.

If I could create a few different "feed groups" that I could then toggle between, it would allow each individual user a ton more control over their experience while continuing to be in the spirit of the relay architecture that makes this place so great.

Do you have any favorite Alan Watts guided meditations? I've listened to a lot of him over the years, but haven't done any of these.

I couldn't agree more. One of the more toxic things about social media in my opinion is the incentivization for specialization.

You see it on bitcoin Twitter, where people realize they get more engagement if they "stay in their lane" but that isn't how most humans work.

Even if you are obsessed with a singular thing for years, eventually you will grow and evolve out of it. A life should have a great deal of diverse experiences, and an ideal form of social media would encourage a broad range of different posts instead of this specialization.

There are a lot of brilliant devs discussing the future of Nostr's technical architecture.

But this is also a social system, what are the most important things in your opinion for scaling Nostr's culture in a positive way?

Decreasing algorithmicly is brilliant, didn't know hacker news did that. Great to know ๐Ÿ‘

Very well put, this is currently my biggest question about how this all scales too any resources to understand this bit better would be much appreciated ๐Ÿ‘

Do you think it would make sense for clients to boost of show zapped content higher?

So far I've enjoyed less algorithmic ranking of my follows, but since it's based on value it seems really interesting/promising?

Well we've got each other here, this exciting new space has so much to be optimistic about.

Let's make it the best community on the internet โœŠ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

The beautiful evolutionary system that is free markets. ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿงก

How's it feeling over there? I'm so busy chilling with my Nostr crew I keep thinking it must look like this

I love that! In a similar vein, the volatility of bitcoin really forced me to become a lot more zen and believe more deeply in my decision making now compared to when I started.

We are right. Bitcoin is the most important single invention of my lifetime and it will improve individual freedoms across the planet ๐Ÿงกโšก๏ธ

The most amazing thing about bitcoin is how it changes you. The idea of proof of work has now seeped its way into my life across so many other domains.

It's a reminder of one of the core tenants of life: If you want results, you must put in the work.

I see it with computer programming, the more time invested into my craft the more my abilities expand. I see it in Brazilian jiu jitsu, getting on the mats day after day and putting in the time has made me better. And I see it in writing, no matter how hopeless the work feels, sitting down and writing words is the key to finishing novels.

Bitcoin has brought positives into my life that are more than just financial, it has changed my thinking for the better.

How has it changed you?

Very cool! Would you recommend us all updating our continuing through the play store?

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you then. Reinstalling would have been my solution for that.

Are you on a much older android device?

You said you are running Amethyst? If so it should display your relays in the upper right.

I was having a lot of issues this morning, I had to prune my relays a bit and everything has been silky smooth every since.

How many relays do you have?

The transferring between them with shared accounts is fascinating.

Curious how the upvote/down vote mechanics would work in something like Reddit. Would be really pleased if a less toxic version of that site could exist.
