I don't have a great answer for the specifics, but I've always thought POW systems on the web could eventually all utilize bitcoins infrastructure rather than each using their own implementation. Especially with lightning now that POW has never been more transferable.
You could imagine a couple sat cost per post on certain relays?

So many of my friendgroups complains are about costs of healthcare, insurance, and childcare.

That's currently where I am at, but every now and again I like to expose myself to more arguments against it, as it literally always strengthens my resolve. At the very least it allows me to argue against shitcoiners better if I understand their arguments more.
One of the exercises I like to do to strengthen my bitcoin resolve is to expose myself to the best arguments against it. I've yet to find a convincing one.
