Today, a holiday....I took my dryer apart, used all kinds of home remedy style solutions, took turns supporting a ladder and climbing a ladder to the roof and dryer vent, used tools most chics don't (socket wrenches?) substituted classic butter knives and plastic cards etc for missing putty knife, when shop vac didn't work well enough used a blower, then back to shop vac with a pool noodle duck taped around it for better fit and suction.... took apart lint filter casing....cleaned everything out in order to get the dryer drying again.... reassembled dryer, lint casing, stupid annoying venting foil thing, front and upper dryer panels etc... catching up on 10 endless loads of laundry. A Labor day it certainly was.

A. because it needed to be done

B. Kids need to see how to learn to do things themselves.

C. I don't have time to schedule a repair and miss work.

D. Could stack more #bitcoin instead of pay repair man.

Do I feel like it was a wasted free day??? No.

Do I wish we had been able to have an enjoyable day off.... outside in the sun, smiling instead of barking and yelling? Yes. 🤷‍♀️

The tiny amount of sats will be worth it I hope. Along with the whole proof of work thing the kids may eventually recall fondly. as they become adults.

this is 💯 accurate. and sad. and it's our kids also....either they are too scared to interact and start conversations in public or they seek insane amounts of attention acting out in public... they spend years and years in closed rooms at desks, not allowed to speak or have opinions or stand up for their own thoughts.....they all are taught they don't matter.... just head down, shut up and do your work

Just had an amazing interaction with a based (and clearly autistic) bag boy at the grocery store.

As he's bagging away at record speed he says " CORPORATE REQUIRES ME TO GIVE THIS FLYER TO YOU BUT I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THEY ARE NOT LEGALLY ABLE TO FORCE ME TO PUT IT INTO YOUR BAG AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT IT."

Then he holds up this "get your free flu shot!!!" flyer and I'm like "appreciate it man, you clearly read the fine print" and he responds "NO I DID NOT READ THE FINE PRINT BUT I THINK IT IS MORALLY WRONG THAT THEY ASK US TO SNEAK THESE INTO YOUR GROCERY BAGS. WE SHOULD NOT BE DOING THAT."

So I'm like "good looking out man, definitely don't need the flyer."

And he's like "GOOD. THEY CANNOT MAKE ME PUT IT IN YOUR GROCERY BAG."

And I'm like "appreciate you fighting the good fight."

And he's like "YES."

And by this time he's finished bagging everything because he's fast as fuck, and then out of nowhere he's like "AT LEAST THIS LATEST BATCH OF FLYERS DOES NOT SMELL LIKE DOGSHIT."

And the cashier is like "you probably shouldn't say that in a grocery store dude."

And he's like "BUT THEY DID SMELL LIKE THAT. I BELIEVE IT WAS THE INK THAT THEY USED."

Anyway, just wanted to share this story because it's a great reminder that YOU DO NOT NEED TO COMPLY WITH BULLSHIT, NO MATTER HOW SEEMINGLY SMALL, AND HAVING A TOUCH OF THE 'TISM CAN OFTEN HELP YOU SEE THROUGH THE BULLSHIT.
