The brazillian cathedral of Brasília is an exemplo of that.
Modernism is more about breaking with old cultures to creat the new trend.
My point is that as bad as some buildings from the modernist wave may look, it also is contemporary with the more affordable housing. (not even bringing the gvrnt subsides into this argument)
One thing that bothers me about this "anti-modernity" wave is the appreciation of Greek, Roman, Gothic and eclectic architecture without the counterpoint of the wealth needed to have access to these goods in their times.
Modernism, in almost all currents, but mainly in architecture, is horrible. But it is contemporary, perhaps even an influential agent, with the explosion of productivity.
Uma coisa que me encomoda nessa onda "anti-modernidade" é o apreço à arquitetura grega, romana, gótica e eclética sem o contraponto da riqueza necessária para ter acesso a esses bens em suas épocas.
O modernismo, em quase todos as correntes, mas principalmente na arquitetura, é horrível. Mas é contemporâneo, é talvez até agente influenciador, à explosão de produtividade.
