I didn't realize until I finished public school that I missed the entire point of it.
I thought it was to learn and be educated.
But in reality it was to learn to sit down and shut up for 8 hours to prepare for the workforce.
You're taught how to be obedient, how to understand structure, and the value of doing work of anyone with authority that tells you to do it.
Nowadays you're taught to love the government, focus on every negative aspect of your country’s history, surrender your rights, get offended by everything, make excuses for your shortcomings, and force these ideas upon others.

You try to capture elusive requirements and find a way of expressing them so that a mere machine can do them justice. You try to document your work so that others can understand it, and you try to engineer your work so that others can build on it. What's more, you try to do all this against the relentless ticking of the project clock. You work small miracles every day.
