Inventor of the word “spywall”. Proof: https://damus.io/note1crepuk77r7dxpugv8vqh5de8xnatxlu2rmztxd70nuhs686pdfssw28plm I do bitcoin stuff. Heard about Bitcoin in 2011. Didn’t act on it until years later. 😅

Today the crypto space has largely matured, the scams aren't gone, they've just all moved into the memecoin space where scamming is easier.

Bitcoin has also not lived up to expectations as much as some had hoped. There is a contingent who believes that the Bitcoin project was "hijacked" because a small group now controls the reference implementation and does not accept changes in accordance with the will of the community. These people have largely congregated around the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) project.

Others see Bitcoin's transparency as a problem. Bitcoin was always transparent, but projects such as Monero (XMR) use advanced mathematics to disguise where transactions come from and go to. Critics of Monero claim the math is too complex and it can't be relied upon.

Between OWS and now, we have won almost everything. Governments are facing the fact that they won't be able to keep printing money forever, and if they do, people will just refuse to hold it. The walls are coming down, the old guard is falling apart, and the President of the United States was elected, largely, because he has a deep personal grudge against the people who did all of this.

Bitcoin is probably going to become more and more an institutional asset, but even with this boring future it still has great significance because it will force upon banks and nations the rule that there is 21 million and not a single one more. This level of forced restraint has never been seen in history. Even under the gold standard, banks could inflate the number of gold certificates because taking physical custody was unfeasible. With Bitcoin, taking custody is trivial and nervous customers will do so at the first signs of trouble, making inflation of paper Bitcoin a recipe for flash bankruptcy.

From the OG Bitcoiner Perspective, the power to put your money in what you believe in is all that really matters. Whether it's Bitcoin, or Bitcoin Cash, Monero, Ethereum, PKT (my project), or a whole galaxy of other crypto things out there, if you believe in it, and the people who hate you can't touch it, print it, borrow it, spend it, etc... That's all that matters.

I tried to zap these posts but you don’t seem to have a correct wallet setting for this 😥

Bitcoin was already above 100K US shekels.

It’s now also above 100K European Rupiah. 🥳

There's a Steve Jobs quote that's about companies that also applies to teams:

It turns out the same thing can happen in technology companies that get monopolies, like IBM or Xerox. If you were a product person at IBM or Xerox, so you make a better copier or computer. So what? When you have monopoly market share, the company's not any more successful.

So the people that can make the company more successful are sales and marketing people, and they end up running the companies. And the product people get driven out of the decision making forums, and the companies forget what it means to make great products. The product sensibility and the product genius that brought them to that monopolistic position gets rotted out by people running these companies that have no conception of a good product versus a bad product.

They have no conception of the craftsmanship that's required to take a good idea and turn it into a good product. And they really have no feeling in their hearts, usually, about wanting to really help the customers."

This happened to me. Some years ago Trace Mayer (of the Mayer Multiple) was an OG that I looked up to.

Then he wanted to be left alone and slide away in obscurity. He succeeded in this by helping a team that launched a MimbleWimble inspired token 😂.

His plan worked: we all stopped following him and left him alone since 🤔

This cycle can’t really start unless nostr:npub15dqlghlewk84wz3pkqqvzl2w2w36f97g89ljds8x6c094nlu02vqjllm5m announces this stuff on Nostr first 🤔

The disaster artist 🤔

Makes sense. Walking to dog and talking up the cute chihuahua lady has always been a better way to meet people then an app.

This updated fixes my login issues. Thanks 😊
