Pretty clearly defined assumptions in creating programmable exchanges, built on currency with better properties than the norm.
ERG_Armeanio - Some are opposed to the basic idea of programmability with money. Smart contracts are bad, lol. Yes, some models have security issues or bad implementations.
I think there is a core misunderstanding between the difference between transacting and exchanging. Both are needed.
ERG_Armeanio - The backbone of trustless exchange has to be known security assumptions.
This is why we promote the idea of KYA, know your assumptions, transparent code, and discuss the importance of censorship resistant access.
ERG_Armeanio - I guess with trustless transactions, you get better properties of money.
However, without better properties of exchange, we are still stuck in the legacy mindset and trust.
Facilitating secure programmable exchange creates trustless properties for currency and business.
ERG_Armeanio - To transact in a trustless way is a core function of blockchain. Send/receive with no middleman.
To trustlessly exchange requires additional logic beyond just acting as a sender/receiver.
Idk why a native asset that can't be trustlessly exchanged p2p is even interesting.
ERG_Armeanio - @jJosjuaThreatt My favorite aspect of proof of work is the fair, competition based distribution mechanism. Protocol enforced from genesis.
Many other means of distribution of coins break down to the choice of existing actors vs. an external competition.
