After assumptions I’d move on to mission/intent .
If a project doesn’t have a clear defined reason for existing, design decisions/trade offs (there are always tradeoffs) tend to get messy- at least in a decentralised open source setting.

“Ergo is Bitcoin with smart contracts”
Or
“Ergo is Cardano but PoW”
But in essence it provides a good mental model.
I’d suggest you start with assumptions
